National Geographic, Geotourism and Portland what do these things have in common? A want and a need to bring people/tourists’ to small little towns like Portland along the Delaware. To make Portland a destination, a place to visit. To let people know we are here and to come see what we have to offer.
A small group of Portland-er’s from vastly different backgrounds of all ages got together recently with one BIG goal. That goal was to create the best nomination presentation for the National Geographic. Pushing Portland to the front of the pack. Did it work……well we made the newspaper so something is working. The National Geographic will be doing the roll out of all the nominations received in May 2016. Please keep watch for more information.
Come out and join the FUN!! There will be lots of eggs so make sure to bring your basket. Ages 0-12 years with age specific areas so that everyone has a great time.
Parking is limited right at the ball field so we asked that you try parking either at the Borough Municipal Office at 206 Division Street, the William Pensyl Social Hall lot at 111 State Street or on street parking along Pennsylvania Avenue. All are just a short walk to the ball field.

If you want to have a great time come out and play for some beautiful Liztech jewelry pieces.

2016 is going to be an even better year for Portland than 2015. The Portland Borough Council along with many key Borough residents’ will continue making strides towards completing goals of getting our downtown back on the map! First task for the Borough to see completed in the spring of 2016 will be a public restroom which will be located in the rear of the Park and Walk parking lot.

LEAF PICK-UP 2015
Portland will have Borough Wide leaf pick-up on Monday November 16 & 17 starting at 8am.
NO parking on Borough Streets during leaf pick-up.
Please have your leaves curbside by Monday morning at 8am.
ONLY LEAVES – No yard debris such as sticks, brush, and grass.
Anyone found to be placing yard debris curbside will be found in violation and maybe cited.

Tuesday November 3, 2015 is Election Day.
Portland’s polling location is at the Borough Municipal Office located at 206 Division Street.
Come out and VOTE. This is one way to have your voice heard. Polls are open from 7am-8pm.
