Snow Emergency January 19, 2019

The Borough has issued a Snow Emergency effective 12:00pm January 19, 2019 until 7pm January 20, 2019.

What does this mean, NO parking on Borough streets during this time. If you choose to park on the streets you risk your vehicle being towed. The reason for the snow emergency is for the safety of anyone who may need to be out on the roads, our police, fire and ems units. Also to allow the streets to be plowed and treated without any obstructions.

There are public parking lots which may utilized during snow storms. There are also private businesses/properties that allow parking during snow storms. If you happen to utilize a Borough lot or private business lot, please respect that these lots need to be cleared of snow as well and the owners pay to have this done so move your vehicles in a reasonable time frame.

Also this is a reminder that anyone with sidewalk in front of their home should have the sidewalk cleared within 24 hours after the precipitation stops. It is helpful if you live near a fire hydrant to also help keep the area clear of snow in the event there should be a fire.

Thank you for your cooperation and please travel safely if you need to be out in the storm.
